Ulrich Frank, M.D.
After completing his study of human medicine at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich Dr. Frank went into research and spent three years at the Institute of Anatomy at the University Bonn. Thanks to his teacher Prof. Dr. H.-M. Schmidt, who is an internationally renowned author of numerous scientific articles, he gained detailed knowledge about the complicated anatomical structure of the human hand. This knowledge was the basis for his work at the reputed Clinic for Hand Surgery at Bad Neustadt/Saale. Under the supervision of his mentor Professor Dr. U. Lanz Dr. Frank gathered experience in the treatment of all diseases of the hand and the upper extremity.
At the Orthopaedic University Clinic of the Free University Berlin Dr. Frank gained further valuable insight particularly in the field of traumatology of the hand especially with regard to replantation. From July 2000 Dr. Frank set up the Centre for Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery in Munich-Harlaching together with medical director Dr. Lukas and was employed as senior physician and deputy medical director until September 2002.
